Sen. Cory Booker maintains that he won't accept money from tech billionaire Elon Musk amid his public feud with President Donald Trump.

On Sunday (June 8), Booker urged Musk to get involved "in a more substantive way" in the Democrats' push against Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" following the Tesla CEO's scathing criticism of the measure.

“This bill is disastrous for our long-term economy,” Booker said on NBC News' “Meet the Press.” “This is an American issue, and I welcome Elon Musk not to my campaign. I welcome him right now not to sit back and just fire off tweets — get involved right now in a more substantive way in putting pressure on Congress people and senators to not do this.”

Booker made it clear that he wouldn't accept campaign funding from Musk, but he would be supportive of the former Trump advisor "putting resources forward to let more Americans know" about the bill.

“I would not accept money from Elon Musk for my campaign," Booker asserted.

The senator's comments come after Musk's criticism of the GOP-backed spending bill set off a public feud between him and Trump. In an X post, Musk called Trump's bill a "disgusting abomination," before the president accused him of "wearing thin" and going "crazy."

Musk went on to claim that Trump would've lost the 2024 election without the $250 million he spent on his campaign. The former DOGE head also accused Trump of being named in the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill," which was passed by the House last month, would extend tax cuts, increase funding for border security, and eliminate federal taxes on tips and overtime pay. Democrats have criticized the bill because it would cut funding for Medicaid and some food stamps, while Musk and other Republicans are blasting the bill for its potential effects on the federal debt and the deficit.

“More Americans have to understand that if this bill passes, average Americans are going to see their costs skyrocket as this president again pushes legislation that is indicative of his chaos, corruption, and cruelty towards Americans,” Booker said Sunday.
