Halsey Announces Round 3 Of The Black Creators Funding Initiative

Halsey is continuing to support and amplify the voices of Black creators.

On Tuesday (December 1), the "More" singer announced the third round of the Black Creators Funding Initiative, which she launched in June as a way to "give funds, resources, and a platform to Black creators."

"I’ve partnered with Cash App to fund round 3 of the Black Creators Funding Initiative, and this time you can get involved as well," Halsey wrote on Instagram Tuesday. "For the next 24 hours, in celebration of Giving Tuesday, Cash App will be matching all donations made through the Cash Tag $BlackCreatorsFund up to $50k. One Hundred Percent (100%!!!) of the donations received will go directly to BCFI round three recipients."

"This time around, all of us together can send funds to more artists than ever before," she continued. "To donate, all you need to do is open or download Cash App, enter the amount of money you’d like to donate (every dollar helps!!) and send it to $BlackCreatorsFund."

Halsey first announced the Black Creators Funding Initiative this past summer amidst the country-wide Black Lives Matter demonstrations, which were sparked by death of George Floyd.

"I am launching this to give funds, resources, and a platform to black creators. Looking for black creators who want to enrich the world with their work," the 26-year-old singer wrote on Instagram in June. "If you're an artist, poet, graphic designer, writer, film maker, music producer, journalist, make up artist, or creator of any kind, we want to see your work and want to help achieve your goals," the artwork accompanying the announcement read.

Four months later, Halsey returned with the second round of the initiative, in which she partnered with Magnum Ice Cream "to help bring more black creators the funds and support to share their work with the world."

Since its launch, the Black Creators Funding Initiative has been awarded to 15 recipients.
